My love for all things Alexa is no secret and so her most recent series British Vogue's YT channel has filled the void in my heart after the first series ended a few months ago. I'm sure a lot of you will have already had a watch of the 2 part series that was put up over the past two weeks but if not then I 1000000% recommend checking it out. As a fashion student I found it insightful, helpful and eye opening seeing all things Vogue behind the scenes but even for those not studying a fashion related degree, it's a super interesting insight into the world of fashion publishing. It covers topics like how to get a job at the fashion bible that is Vogue, shares how those most important on the team got to their current roles and perhaps most interestingly, it is all filmed inside the Vogue office itself aka THE ultimate destination for all things fashion. As well as all that, Alexa is perhaps the most charming, funny lady ever so seeing her delve into the world of fashion publishing was a pleasure to watch. I could probably pass watching this series off as uni research, right?

Instagram accounts you should be following

Instagram was possibly the first social media platform I became FULL ON obsessed with and since making my account many years ago it has always held a special place in my heart. As a photography enthusiast it was always going to be a full on love affair and I should probs give a little nod to my 'Instagram husband' for putting up with my constant "Let me take a picture before you eat it!" and "Can you just take another picture, like from higher angle?". Soz Scott. ANYWAY, little gushy moment about one of my fave apps over, this post is actually dedicated to sharing the love for some special ladies that I adore seeing on my feed and think you should be checkin out too, if for some crazy reason you haven't already. I am all about the Insta aesthetic so despite the fact the accounts shown below do have a serious photo taking talent, I really just love the content and personality in their photographs and have a lot of love for a lot of them in general.
First things first, I want to confess my love for Liv and everything WhatOliviaDid because I am a huge fan of her blog as well as equally beaut Instagram. If you're looking for daily outfit inspo, breakfast goals or general hair envy then Liv has got you covered. If I could swap wardrobes with anyone other than Ms Chung, Liv would be next on the list because she has got all things clothing down to a tee; I am a mix of admiration and slight jealously that my own wardrobe isn't as well established and all round perfect. After keeping up with Liv's blog for a good few years now, her other social media is a must follow because not only is she the loveliest blogger around but she also has a damn good Insta feed. All the admiration for this lady.
Next up is another human I could waffle on about for potentially the rest of my life because I think I might be a little bit in love with Hayley ?? I adore her Instagram and seeing insights into the life of a surface pattern student not only because her work is absolutely drop dead gorgeous (!!!) but also because she is my daily inspo university wise to achieve as much as she has and be as dedicated and committed! Her paper cutting work amazes me and baffles me in equal measures and regularly I'll stalk her insta just so I can scroll through her university work and wish I had as many talents as her. I JUST HAVE ALL THE EMOTIONS ABOUT HAILS. If this post wasn't just sharing her Instagram feed there is a dangerous possibility it could turn into a full on Hayley appreciation essay. If some of the pics above weren't enough persuasion to follow her, the quite frankly delicious abundance of food and lattes is reason enough alone. Seriously, the sushi and THAT falafel filled pitta are making my mouth water just thinking about them.

Ella is someone I have followed online for probably a couple of years now and I couldn't be without her Instagram. It is a place bursting with positivity and love and I have so much admiration for her attitudes to life and her 'girl power' ethos as well as her plant based diet which as many of you who follow my Twitter will know, is something I have so much interest in. Aside from the smoothie bowls (goals) and other deliciousness on Ella's feed that make my granola breakfasts look a little feeble in comparison, her travel photographs are another thing I have a lot of love for as well as the general positivity and happiness that seems to make up each of her captions. If there was one person that I could recommend following for inspiration to live life to the fullest and enjoy the little things it would be Ella; I know it sounds silly that I can have so much appreciation for her just through Instagram but she really does have the most wonderful attitude to life. Biggest babe award goes to Ella.
If you're looking to follow someone who is absolutely winning at life (yet who denies her own amazing talents!!) then Ellie's insta is the place to go. Studying fashion communication and promotion in London, Ellie is someone I really look up to for all the successes she has made for herself through her blog and just general amazing way of tackling life. I feel like I almost live vicariously through her Instagram as we're studying the same course and she is everything I aspire to be achieving because she is just doing so SO well. As well as her down to earth, everyday life photos, I really love seeing this visual insight into her life and especially in the case of Fashion Week, it makes my heart swell a little seeing the amazing things she is achieving. Definitely check out her insta if you're after real student life but in the most aesthetically pleasing way. You'll see what I mean.

Another babe who's outfits I just cannot get enough of is ASOS Insider and (can I say) Alexa Chung's long lost twin sister, Megan. She really is all the hair/outfit/food and relationship goals and I adore seeing her outfits, adventures and food documented in both her personal and ASOS Instagram accounts. Her wardrobe is one I could only dream of and if keeping up with her style wasn't enough reason to follow her, seeing her travel adventures (yes I'm taking about the NYC trip and THAT Shrimps coat) and daily getting's up to make for one of my fave Instagrams of all time (a pretty big claim to make). Also our mutual love for all things striped clothing make her one of my biggest shopping enablers, but that only makes me love her a lil bit more??

I feel like this post took a bit of a turn from not only Instagram feeds I love but just general appreciation of ladies I really admire and love seeing parts of their life online. Hey ho. Let me know who your favourite Instagrammers are because I am always on the look out for more to follow! FYI, you can find me on Insta at @charlottesweb, just saying.

First impressions - Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation

It feels like I haven't uploaded a beauty post in FOREVER but I was really keen to get this one up not only because the packaging of this product is so beaut but also because it's been on my wish list for so long. I received the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation for Christmas and have been testing it out since then which, after the hype around this product I was super excited to do. I have shade '1 Fair' which is the lightest shade possible :) When did I get this pale :). I was matched at a Charlotte Tilbury counter however the (lovely) lady only applied a little to my cheek which I don't feel was the most effective way of doing so; when I have been matched in MAC in the past they have removed my foundation and then reapplied across my whole face so I could see the finish and colour more easily. My CT foundation does seem a little on the pale side which is okay for the winter months but I think when my skin gets (marginally) more tanned the match might not be quite so good.

The foundation is described as full coverage which to some extent I would  agree with. I don't feel it is anywhere near as high coverage as my trust NARS Sheer Glow which is the sort of product I like to use on a daily basis because of my problem skin. I have found myself grabbing the Magic Foundation on my 'good skin' days because one of the things I love about the product most is the finish of it. It feels completely weightless on my skin and   gives a natural 'inner' glow whilst covering (most of) my blemishes. I have been using my trusty Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face brush to apply it but I'm definitely going to experiment with my Real Techniques sponge because I think that might be a more effective way to create the flawless, full coverage finish that it promises. The foundation comes with a pump which is definitely a big thumbs up from me as most other high end foundations I have tried in the past require you to buy one separately as well as the silly money you're paying for the product. In comparison to my other go-to foundations, I find that the Magic Foundation sits really nicely on my skin and wears extremely well. Despite my thoughts that it might not be as full coverage as NARS, it definitely wears far better throughout the day and I find myself not having to touch up my make up as regularly if not at all. From the trial and testing so far I would 100% recommend this Charlotte Tilbury beauty because it is a really gorgeous product overall and I think applied in the right way it can be built up to full coverage easily. I find it does cling to the couple of dry patches I have around spots and blemishes but that's nothing a good moisturiser beforehand can't fix. This is the first CT product I have tried and so far I am v impressed!

Goals for 2016

I know compared to other people I'm quite late on the bandwagon with this one so perhaps that should be one of my goals instead. To upload at a reasonable time for the topic in question. I hope this post doesn't seem a little redundant now that we're almost a week into the New Year but really it's taken me this long to set in stone what I want to achieve this year and realise the changes I want to make. January always seems to creep up on me whilst I'm obliviously stuck in Christmas mode (although for me that begins mid September so I should be prepared by now) and somehow I never make any resolutions in time for them to come into fruition by the 1st of Jan. This year however, despite being 6 days late, I AM DETERMINED. I wrote a post last year about the things I wanted to achieve in the near future and I have a wonderful (read: terrible) habit of pushing the things that are difficult to the back of my mind instead of tackling them. I'm also thinking perhaps tackling problems should now have been one of my resolutions. Never mind.

1) Learn to drive. This has been on my mind for about 6 months now and is something I really want to achieve this year. Almost all of my friends have mastered the talent and now get themselves around from place to place without the need for a parent taxi service and I SO wanna be able to do the same. I'm of a very anxious disposition anyway so the thought of driving makes me want to cry/vomit/curl up into a ball for the foreseeable future however 2016 is the year I'm going to make it happen!!!!!

2) Drink more water. Okay I know this is probably one of most people's resolutions every single year but it's something I really need to start doing. A bit of a mundane resolution but an important one nonetheless.

3) Be more spontaneous! I am a lover of comfort zones and all things that come with them and realistically can only think of a few examples of when I have (willingly) pushed myself out of what feels familiar and safe. 2016 is *fingers crossed* going to be the year that changes! I have some saved birthday and Christmas money from the past couple of years because despite many things getting the way of me having a job whilst studying, I am quite determined to attend a festival in 2016. I don't know if this is just ASKING for a panic attack and anxiety induced few days but every year I see my friends having the time of their lives and this year is the time I'm going to push myself to go! S and I are thinking of going to Latitude festival and even if I hate it, at least I will have tried and will know that festival season is just not for me.

4) Go abroad! I'm still, at the age of 18, petrified of flying with even the thought of getting on a plane making me a little queasy. Again this is a resolution linked to the intense regret I get from seeing all my pals jetting off to different destinations each year and having the best time ever and I really REALLY want to do the same. This is a pretty big challenge for me but I'm only 18 once and if I can't travel somewhere now with my boyfriend then when am I ever going to do it ?? In short, I'm going to attempt to seize the moment a little more.

5) Create a solid skincare routine and stick to it. Don't get me wrong, I'm a lover of ALLL things skincare and really enjoy shopping for new face masks and cleansers but I've always been a little sporadic with how I use them. This year I want to establish a routine with my holy grail products that I stick to every day and find one that works best for me! My skin has been going a little crazy recently (potentially to do with the ridiculous amount of food I have consumed over the festive period) and so I'm hoping some stability with the products I use will help!

I have every intention of reviewing this post in a couple of months time and hopefully will have made a start with a lot of these (I'm looking at you resolution number 1) so feel free to tweet me in a few weeks and give me the motivation I need to tackle these resolutions. Also please comment and let me know your 2016 goals or link me to a blog post in which you've done a similar thing, I would love to have a read!

What I got for Christmas 2015

Hey peeps, I hope you all had a wonderful New Year!! This is my first (of hopefully many) posts in 2016 which excites me greatly because despite not feeling my usual refreshed and ready-to-go self this January, I'm hoping that my blog is one aspect of my schedule that I can fully commit to making work. I know I might be a lil bit late with this one but I'm still enjoying seeing peoples presents so I hoped that in fact others might also be slightly interested in what I got for Christmas this year!! I was completely spoilt by my family/friends/boyf and so although this post doesn't include all my gifts, these are my faves! I did send my mum (as requested) a list of things on my wish list including links and all so a lot of these presents were chosen by moi and were things I'd been lusting over for a while. Goodies such as the Charlotte Tilbury Magic foundation have been long on the lust list and so I was v happy with this as well as the everyday cleanser from First Aid Beauty which I so far LOVE. Sometimes it's nice to have an idea of the presents you're getting because then the excitement to open them on Chrimbo day is even greater.

Of course I had some surprises too like the Astrid and Miyu infinity ring which my mum chose perfectly! I have a couple of other pieces from them which I wear religiously and adding this midi ring to my collection was something I was v excited about. It's super dainty and pretty and I've worn it non stop since opening it; I'd highly recommend checking out their jewellery pieces if you haven't already. The print featured in the first photo (from NotOnTheHighStreet) is another present I was super happy with and will definitely be taking it back to university with me to inspire and motivate me day to day. The DVDs featured were from different family members and my excitement to see Inside Out is OFF THE SCALE. I wanted to see it so badly when it was in the cinema but somehow never got round to it so I'm v happy to be able to watch it tucked up in bed now with all the snacks I want and no cinema prices.

Perhaps my favourite present of all is my Kanken backpack which is coincidentally from my favourite person who seems to just get presents so right ?? Scott knew how long I'd been searching for this particular colour which let me tell you is sold out absolutely everywhere so how he managed to find me one I will never know. The addition of the New York pin from his travels last year makes it even more special and I think will be the start of an enamel pin collection for this adorable bag. Other presents to note would be the shoes of my DREAMS (pom pom lace ups is all I have to say, check my insta), Topshop vouchers galore and ALLLL the copper goodies because my family know me so well. I hope this post didn't come across in a bragging way, I love seeing others presents so figured you guys might be interested too.

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and New Year!
